W pracy przedstawiono problemy związane z diagnostyką i leczeniem otitis externa. Omówiono różnorodność obrazu klinicznego, uwzględniając etiologię grzybiczą oraz bakteryjną, w szczególności zakażenie Pseudomonas aerug. Przedstawiono czynniki predysponujące, omówiono szczegóły anatomiczne i funkcjonalne.

Diagnostic and therapeutic problems concerning otitis external are presented and discussed. Different clinical presentations of the disease are described and related to fungal and bacterial (particularly Pseudomonas aeruginosa) etiology. Predisposing factors for otitis externa as well as anatomical and functional features of the external ear are analysed in details.
