Urinary tract infections in children are the second important infection followed by RTI independently of seasons and ages but strongly related to sex. The article discusses the epidemiology, ethiology, pathogenesis, virulence factors, diagnosis and treatment of UTI. The clinical picture and the consequence of infections are strongly related to interactions between the pathogen and the host.
