Pharmacological treatment for major depression in adolescents

Abstract:

No randomized controlled trial has demonstrated any TCA to be effective in the treatment of depression in adolescents. TCAs are particularly cardiotoxic in children and adolescents. SSRIs demonstrate better efficacy in juvenile depression and seem to be well tolerated.
