Bronchial hyperreactivity (BHR) is the cardinal feature of asthma. This is also one of the main parts of its definition. In the present paper the epidemiology, pathomechanisms of bronchial hyperreactivity and the possibility of its occurrence in other diseases than asthma has been discussed.
