Częste i nawracające infekcje to jeden z najtrudniejszych problemów lekarza pediatry. Lekarz musi zmierzyć sięz dwoma zagadnieniami: czy dziecko jest zdrowe czyteż ma poważną chorobę oraz – w tym drugim wypadku– jak przy użyciu minimalnej liczby badań potwierdzić lub wykluczyć podejrzewane rozpoznanie. W niniejszym opracowaniu autorzy proponują kilkuetapowy protokół diagnostyczny, oparty na doświadczeniu naszego ośrodka klinicznego, pomagający w diagnostyce pacjentów z nawracającymi infekcjami układu oddechowego. Kilkuetapowość tego protokołu pozwala na oszczędny przesiew w celu postawienia wczesnego prawidłowego rozpoznania oraz ma zapobiec nieuzasadnionemu leczeniu. Wierzymy, że będzie on pożytecznym narzędziem diagnostycznym dla pediatrów.
Abstract:
The child who has recurrent infections poses one ofthe most difficult diagnostic challenges in pediatrics.The clinician faces a double challenge in determining first whether the child is healthy or it has a serious disease, and then, in the latter case, how to confirm orexclude the diagnosis with the minimum number of the least invasive tests. In this report the authors proposea multi-stage own experience-based approach that is designed to help in management of patients with recurrent respiratory tract infections. The multi-stage design allows the cost-effective screening for correct and early diagnosis and prevents unjustifiable treatment. It may also prove a useful guide to the clinician.
